M-TH | June 22-26 | 1pm-4pm
Enrichment Course, Non-Credit | $150
Grades 6-12

Students will learn about the key elements of creating a successful film – Directing, Screenwriting, Cinematography, Editing, Acting, Set, Special & Visual Effects, and Sound designing. We will watch examples from popular Hollywood movies that highlight each concept. After establishing the 8 key elements, students will create their own short films, which will be shared at the end of camp together. All students will actively learn the major processes of creating a film including scriptwriting, cinematography, and editing to create a successful film. The overarching outcome of this course is to effectively tell a story through the medium of film and develop a greater appreciation toward the art form. Additional skills acquired through this course: Recording good video on a phone, tablet, or camera; learn the basic knowledge of iMovie; begin a greater appreciation for film; and learning on the job problem solving.
