PREREQUISITE: One year of band instrument experience and basic music-reading ability.
Summer Band provides an opportunity for students to continue playing flute, oboe, clarinet, saxophone, bassoon, trumpet, trombone, baritone/euphonium, tuba, and percussion in an ensemble setting outside of the school year. Students will develop instrument-specific techniques and musicality while performing familiar music and will learn key elements of ensemble performance. Difficulty of the musical selections will be edited to challenge each student appropriately at their current skill level. Students also have the option of signing up for private lessons for individualized instruction with the band director and/or specialized teachers, for additional tuition.
