Pioneer Reading Enrichment
Grade: K-3 | T-W-TH | June 15-July 29 | 9am-12pm | $175

This is a 7-week tutoring program hosted by a partnership between Hill-Murray, Literacy Matters Foundation, and Youth Advantage.
For students in grades K-6, we want to increase their love of reading and teach them to R.E.A.D.
R - Read with confidence,
E - become Empathetic individuals,
A - Achieve progress in their current reading level,
D - and Defeat any reading difference or issue they face when reading.
Students in grades K-3 will utilize the Literacy Matters Foundation program called Mighty Doodle™, based on the evidence-based Orton Gillingham approach in a gamified format. In addition, students in grades K-3 will work with individualized strategies to increase their phonemic awareness.
Students in grades 4-6 will utilize a program called Achieve 3000. Students' growth will be measured using Lexile levels and work with strategies like prefixes, suffixes, and roots, re-reading, summarizing, and monitoring clarification.
Note: We’ve incorporated theme days every Wednesday of the program. We have collaborated with The Free Book Buggie and students will have arts and crafts to take home.
